World Bank grants Yemen 863 million

Announced the Executive Director of the World Bank Mirza Hassan on the allocation of bank funds of up to 863 million dollars to support the implementation of development projects in Yemen, stressing the need to improve the absorptive capacity of the Yemeni government institutions for foreign aid and employment in the service of overall development.

He urged Mirza Hassan during his participation in the talks session closing between Yemen and the World Bank, held in Sana'a different countries and donors, regional and international organizations to translate their interest in Yemen through the creation of sources of financing for development projects in Yemen and support the national accord government of Yemen to overcome the difficult challenges that are full of the transition current.

In turn, noted the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, to the importance of the World Bank to play a pivotal role in the mobilization of regional and international support to assist the Government of National Reconciliation to meet the challenges of transition and rehabilitation of the Yemeni economy. The directions state to evaluate all the imbalances and deficiencies in the system, the economic performance of the state.

The ministers of finance, agriculture, irrigation works and roads, fish, electricity and energy interventions sporadic centered in its entirety on the assessment of the progress of implementation of projects financed by the Bank both with regard to his ministry and the nature of the difficulties and obstacles that still stand a barrier to maximum benefit from funds made available by the World Bank.
